WHAT IS K'ÓMOKS FESTIVAL?

Celebrating National Indigenous Peoples Every Day

K'ómoks Festival 2025

Historically, we have come together on June 21st to celebrate National Indigenous Peoples Day.

For 2025, we will be expanding that offering and gathering on many days so we can celebrate our vibrant Indigenous culture everyday—and include more community members in the events and workshops we offer.

Our West Coast Indigenous Elders Conference dates are May 27-29, 2025. Our Call for Sponsorship has launched and we will have participant registration available on March 15, 2025.

We will share our full 2025 Schedule of Events in March 2025. We hope to see you there!

About K’ómoks First Nation

The K’ómoks First Nation is located in the heart of the Comox Valley on Vancouver Island. Membership is currently just over 300 members within four clans: Sahtloot, Saseetla, Ieeksun and Puntledge. Two cultures are identified within our community: Coast Salish (Island-Comox speaking peoples) and Kwakwaka'wakw (Kwak̓ wala speaking peoples). The K’ómoks First Nation originally occupied sites in Kelsey Bay between Campbell River and Port McNeill on Johnstone Straits, Quinsum, Campbell River, Quadra Island, Kye Bay and along the Puntledge Estuary—one of the most beautiful parts of the world.
